OVERVIEW & COUNTY HISTORY
The County was named after Charles Carroll, one of Maryland’s signers of the Declaration of Independence and the longest-lived of all the signers, who died a few years before the County’s founding.
THE VISITOR CENTER
We operate out of the Carroll County Visitor Center, where you can visit us to pick up brochures, ask questions, and plan the details of your trip.

DIRECTIONS
Carroll County, Maryland, is just a short drive from Gettysburg, PA (35 minutes), Baltimore (45 minutes), and Washington, D.C. (90 minutes).
