DESCRIPTION:In honor of over 60 years of arts advocacy in Carroll County\, come celebrate the legacy of Glenn Patterson: teacher\, mentor\, musician\, and leader. This is one you don’t want to miss! \nThe Carroll County Jazz Ensemble has been performing as a unit since 1986. Most of their performances have been to support non-profit organizations. In 2002 “Big Band Merry Christmas” was established to support health care in Carroll County through the Carroll Hospital Foundation. DESCRIPTION:Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. What do you have planned for your beloved? \nIf you are looking for a fun date afternoon/evening\, we have the perfect event for you! \nThe Town of Mount Airy and the Mount Airy Main Street Association (MAMSA) have partnered together to host Chocolate Crawl on Saturday\, Feb. 8 from 3 to 6 p.m. along Downtown Main Street. \nParticipating Downtown Main Street merchants will have fun chocolate themes like Tony Pazzo Italian Ristorante and Bar serving chocolate drinks and food specials and Liquidity Aleworks with a chocolate raspberry stout! We will also have vendors on site offering sweet treats for purchase such as Fresh Squeezed Please with a hot chocolate bar\, The Dessert Depot and Mommy Magic Cakes with chocolate items for purchase and Linganore Winecellars and Elk Run Vineyards with wine to pair with a sweet treat as well as Twin Valley Distillers for your libation needs. \nWe will also have live music from 3 to 5 p.m. by musician Andrew Andriko who brings a combination of rock\, alternative\, and experimental music to the event. \nIf you make a purchase at a Downtown business during the event hours\, guests can receive a free gift! DESCRIPTION:Presented by John Laycock:  It is Christmas 1776\, and all is not well for George Washington and his Continental Army. They have suffered a string of defeats and have retreated into New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Fighting through a blizzard and smallpox\, Maryland Militia reinforcements start filling the New Jersey countryside. The story of Private Jacob Zoll and his company led by Captain John Ross Key is an under looked part of the Revolutionary War. This talk will share Private Zoll’s struggle as he begins his journey to fight for his liberty. \nMr. Laycock has a love of genealogy and local history. He is a member of the Westminster Sons of the American Revolution and the Historical Society of Carroll County. He lives in Sykesville with his wife and 3 kids. He can often be found watching his beloved Chicago Cubs and still can’t believe that they finally won it all.

Ruth Rosa Louise Muhlmann was 20 years old when she was killed at Bernburg Euthanasia Center on March 31\, 1941\, one of over 300\,000 people with disabilities murdered by the Nazis. \nThe Nazi cover-up of her death in their secret euthanasia program\, Aktion T4\, was so effective that it was not until 2018 that the truth was discovered. Ilka Knuppel has carefully researched the history of her great-aunt\, Ruth\, and her family in Germany. \n‘Finding Ruth’ describes the journey that crisscrosses years and continents\, delves into dusty documents\, and pieces together bits and pieces of clues from various oral histories to unearth the true story of Ruth.
