This trade was far from a one-sided exchange; it was a dialogue between two very distinct cultures. Goods\, ideas\, and people flowed through trade routes established by the British East India Company and reached as far as the 13 colonies (soon\, the nascent United States). These goods\, and yes\, even people\, arrived as distant foreigners in a strange land\, but left an indelible mark that has only recently been uncovered. Registration is required. DESCRIPTION:Only 2 Saturday’s left!  On Saturday\, December 6th the seasonal Christmas Market and Hand Made Crafts Show will run Saturdays only 8:00am – 2:00pm through December 13th.  Now is a good time to place your orders with your favorite vendors!   The Westminster Kawanis Club will be available from 9am to 2pm selling oranges\, grapefruits\, and mandarin oranges. Each week there will be 75-100 vendors selling a wide variety of handmade and home-produced goods. We have everything to help you with your holiday celebrations. The Littlestown Garden Club along with Mark Peeling will have fresh wreaths\, garland\, and arrangements. \nThere will be local fresh eggs\, nuts\, honey\, cheese\, spirits\, jams and jellies. \nFresh evergreens\, wreaths and arrangements can be found for the holidays as well as seasonal plants. Home baked goods and other gourmet foods are also available: pies\, cakes\, cookies\, scones\, breads\, dip mixes and candy. \nCustomers will find crafts and fine arts such as jewelry\, pottery\, wood crafts\, photography\, baby items\, soaps\, skin care items\, primitive art\, fabric items and more. \nBreakfast and lunch will be served. Pancake breakfast and egg sandwiches are popular breakfast items. All decorated items are donated for a silent auction benefitting the Taneytown History Museum. Decorated items will be on display in the lobby of ACNB Bank\, Taneytown Office\, located at 222 East Baltimore Street\, Taneytown. \nPublic Viewing\, Voting and Silent Auction Hours Monday thru Friday 9 am to 5 pm\, Saturday 9 am to 12 Noon and Saturday\, December 13\, 9 am to 10 am.\nAll items are voted on by the public. Join us as local historian John Laycock discusses the story of Normand Bruce\, his enduring legacy in Carroll County and the foundation of Bruceville\, where Myrtle Hill\, the home he built in the 1760s\, still stands. Bruce was a Scottish immigrant\, businessman\, prominent landowner\, soldier\, politician\, husband\, and father. He answered the call during the American Revolution and served as an officer in the Maryland militia. Mr. Laycock is a member of the Westminster Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution and a board member of the Historical Society of Carroll County. Registration required. Visit site for details.

DESCRIPTION:The Together in the Arts Series was designed to make the arts more accessible to our community\, providing programming during the day\, that is interactive\, engaging all of our senses that is entertaining and inspiring for people of all ages and abilities. No Reservations Required. \nZamDance is about empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by creating a safe and supportive space where they can explore the art of dance and enhance their physical and emotional well-being. Let’s bring JOY and HAPPINESS through music and dance. \n“What particularly impressed me about the instructor was not only her obvious zest for bringing dance to our special kids\, but the way she identified which kids were not fully understanding or engaging at times\, and how she gently but enthusiastically approached them and brought them back into the fold to enhance every child’s participation. She gives individual focus within the overall dance class so every child is attended to\, and the moves are so fun and invigorating that many parents found themselves joining in because they simply couldn’t sit still with all the energy in the room!” Whitney Ellenby\, Autism Ambassadors\nJacqueline Zamora\, the founder of ZamDance\, resides in Maryland\, and for over ten years has worked professionally in a variety of capacities with children with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Raised in Brooklyn\, New York she developed a passion for dance and exercise. As a dancer and certified aerobics instructor\, she has worked at the Bally Fitness Gym and at the Marriott World Trade Center Gym. She trained in Jazz and African dance at the Broadway Dance Center and at the Djoniba Dance Studio in New York City\, performed in England with Julie Tolentino’s show entitled\, ” Mestiza\, What Beautiful Eyes You Have\,” and collaborated with French Choreographer\, David Rousseve at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. She was also the Director of Choreography/dancer for the Shaun Singh Productions Broadway show entitled\, RANG\, Shades of my Soul.
