SUMMARY:Professor Louie & the Crowmatix
DESCRIPTION:Common Ground Downtown \nGrammy Nominated Professor Louie & The Crowmatix from Woodstock NY have been expanding the borders of the Americana\, Roots & Blues genres since the early 2000’s with Professor Louie’s stories\, keyboard playing\, singing and accordion. Their repertoire continual expands with Crowmatix songs from their 17 Albums of Originals\, Blues and Americana music—and the songs Louie learned and helped create directly with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame group “The Band” when he collaborated with them for over 15 years. Co-producing The Band’s last three CD’s including their comeback hits Atlantic City & Blind Willie Mctell along with many of their 90’s repertoire.  Rick Danko gave Louie the moniker “Professor Louie”. \nTheir connection with audiences at shows helps create a family rapport. Professor Louie (keyboards-vocals-accordion) is joined onstage by band mates Miss Marie (vocals\, percussion and piano) Frank Campbell (bass\, vocals) guitar-slinging skills of Todd Mihan and drummer Dan Hickey. Professor Louie & The Crowmatix create a show that is constantly evolving with songs consisting of elements of Rock n Roll\, Blues\, Folk & Gospel Music with a dose of Jam framed in solid songwriting. Look for their new Album 2025 on Woodstock Records. \nIn 2023 Professor Louie & The Crowmatix released a vinyl EP “Rockin’ Legacy Vol 1. The course starts and finishes at the Irish Festival on Main Street in Downtown Westminster. Registration includes a long-sleeve t-shirt or upgrade to a hooded sweatshirt for an additional $20\, post-race beverage (beer for 21+ or a bottled water) & refreshments\, and an awards ceremony. The Irish Festival is held from 8AM-Noon. Enjoy live music\, vendors\, and activities for children. Then hop on the trolley for our fabulously fun pub crawl from Noon-4 PM. DESCRIPTION:Presented by Kyle Wichtendahl:  General George Meade’s plan to encounter the confederate army along the banks of Pipe Creek did not materialize\, because General Lee did not cooperate. However\, the movement to Gettysburg had a profound impact on Carroll County communities. Kyle will recount the experiences of civilians and soldiers as Confederate and Union armies invaded and occupied Carroll County during the weeks surrounding the Gettysburg battle. \nAs always\, there is no registration for Box Lunch Talks. You bring your lunch\, and we provide the drinks and desserts (thanks to our volunteers and staff). The cost is $3 for HSCC members and $7 for nonmembers.
