SUMMARY:Common Ground Downtown Concert Series: The Seldom Scene
DESCRIPTION:Fifty-three years into a legendary career\, much has changed about The Seldom Scene\, but even as band members have stepped in and out of various roles\, what’s most important is what hasn’t changed – their undeniable knack for blending both old and new music traditions. Their current iteration is a true blue lineup: guitarist mandolin player Lou Reid\, bassist Ronnie Simpkins\, banjoist and fiddler Ron Stewart\, dobro player Fred Travers\, and guitarist Clay Hess. \nJoin us for a memorable evening of bluegrass with acclaimed favorites\, The Seldom Scene! \nThank you to our generous sponsor Linda Van Hart.

SUMMARY:Carroll 250 Speaker Series: Patriots Buried in Carroll County Cemeteries
DESCRIPTION:There are an estimated 60 Revolutionary War Patriots buried in Carroll County across several cemeteries. Many of these are known but many more are likely lost to history. It is important to remember our Patriot ancestors. This talk will provide an overview of family cemeteries\, church cemeteries\, and town cemeteries located in the county and discuss Patriots buried there. \nMore importantly as we approach America’s 250th there are cemeteries that are known to be lost or in danger of being lost. Preservation of these Patriot ancestors’ graves is an important part of our American heritage and a sacred duty to keep their memory alive. \nJames Engler – Mr. Engler is a member of the Westminster Chapter\, Sons of the American Revolution. He has served in a variety of roles in the SAR\, including as president of both the Westminster Chapter and Maryland SAR\, as well as Vice President General of SAR for the Mid-Atlantic District (Virginia\, District of Columbia\, Maryland\, Pennsylvania\, and Delaware). \nJohn Laycock – Mr. Laycock is a member of the Westminster Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution and a board member of the Historical Society of Carroll County. \nRegistration for this event is available on the Carroll County Public Library website. Visit https://ccpl.librarymarket.com/event/carroll-cemeteries to register today!

SUMMARY:Fine Tuned Presents: Skribe & Anthony Frijia
DESCRIPTION:About Skribe:\n“Skribe plays an oil can called a canjo-zookie. It’s an eight-string guitar with a biting\, blues-y rasp. Skribe’s got the voice (and the old-school Cadillac) to match. Accompanying himself on the suitcase-kick and hi-hat\, Skribe’s “M.I.Y.” is a barn-burning roots number.” \n– Ben Naddaff-Hafrey NPR \nYou may have recently seen Skribe supporting G. Love & Special Sauce\, Darius Rucker\, Jon Cleary\, Lucy Dacus\, Jake Clemons (of the E Street Band)\, Patrick Sweaney\, Langhorne Slim\, Lydia Loveless\, Shovels & Rope\, Samantha Fish\, Grizfolk\, Joe Pug\, The Last Bandoleros\, Zach Deputy\, Suitcase Junket\, and Possessed By Paul James… \nAbout Anthony Frijia:\nAnthony Frijia has mastered the art of creating live shows that feel more like intimate conversations than performances. \nRecently voted “Baltimore’s Best Local Artist” in the Baltimore Reader’s Poll\, he knows it’s these intimate conversations to which he owes all of his success as an artist. \nFusing folk\, blues\, and country influences\, Frijia’s lyrically-driven songwriting has captivated audiences along the east coast and across the country as a touring artist\, drawing comparisons to Bob Dylan\, Todd Snider\, and Tyler Childers. Anthony has released four studio records- each showing his evolution as both a songwriter and as a touring artist. His knack for quick wit and a great lyric have never been more evident than on his most-recent\, and first-ever\, live release\, “The Snuggery Sessions (Live)”\, recorded in Williamsport\, MD to end his solo cross-country tour\, and released in October 2025.
