Center off of Gist Rd. located between Smith Ave. and Center St. Look for the red and white tent on the left side of the road.\nThere will be 20 market vendors set up selling handmade crafts\, plants\, pies\, cakes\, breads\, all local fruit\, and vegetables.\nAll of the produce is picked the day before or the day of the market. Come out and meet the people who grow your food. There will also be fresh cut garden flowers available.\nThe produce shoppers this week should be able to find peaches\, cantaloupes\, melons\, peppers\, tomatoes\, sweet corn\, potatoes\, cucumbers\, squash\, kale\, lettuce\, plums\, beets\, and beans. Customers should come early for the best selection.

DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, August 15th\, the Carroll County Farmer’s Market is celebrating its 21st Peach Festival. The Market will be open from 8:00am to 2:00pm this Saturday. \nLocal peaches\, peach sundaes\, peach scones\, peach cobblers\, peach pies\, peach cakes\, and other food items are offered for sale. \nThis week customers will also find locally grown tomatoes\, peaches\, corn\, blueberries\, black raspberries\, sour cherries\, beets\, onions\, peas\, cabbage\, broccoli\, cauliflower\, squash\, kale\, spinach\, lettuce\, and fresh cut flowers. \nThere will be many beautiful potted plants\, garden plants\, herbs\, and flowering plants to spruce up your patios. Our producer only market will be offering food products including homemade baked goods\, jams and jellies\, honey\, fresh local eggs\, pasture raised meats\, homemade dips\, soaps\, distilled spirits\, and handmade crafts for all occasions.

SUMMARY:Carroll County Farmer's Market - Heirloom Tomato Festival
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, August 22nd the Carroll County Farmer’s Market will feature the Master Gardeners’ 18th Annual Heirloom Tomato Festival. Hours are 8am-1pm. \nThere will be around 50 different varieties of heirloom tomatoes to taste. To be considered an heirloom tomato\, the plants must be open pollinated\, which means by the wind or insects\, and has existed for at least 50 years. The Master Gardeners will provide information on how to grow heirloom tomatoes and have heirloom seeds for customers to take home and grow next year. In addition to the fresh tomato tasting\, available for sampling\, as well as recipe cards. \nMany varieties of tomatoes will be available to sample and compare: Green Tomatoes\, Black Tomatoes\, Pink Tomatoes\, Red Tomatoes\, Yellow Tomatoes\, Striped Tomatoes. Lots of food dishes are on hand to taste as well as recipes cards to take home. This is a really great celebration of the many uses of tomatoes. The event is a must see for any tomato lover. Be sure to come early\, however\, because the samples ran out early last year.

DESCRIPTION:Music on the Millrace offers a relaxed\, inviting opportunity for our members and friends to come out to enjoy the authentic beauty of the site\, separate from our other major events. \nThis is a great time to enjoy an afternoon on the beautiful grounds of the Union Mills Homestead. Admission to the event is only $10. Under 12 are free! Food\, beer and wine will be available to purchase. Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on. No outside alcohol may be brought into the event. Because we have to inspect any containers to ensure there is no alcohol\, please refrain from bringing backpacks or coolers\, although you are welcome to bring your own snacks. \nHayden Shaw and This Side of Pleasant \nHailing from right down the road\, Hayden Shaw and his band This Side of Pleasant (as in Pleasant Valley) is thrilled to be back for another great day of Bluegrass! Hayden Shaw & This Side of Pleasant is a high-energy Bluegrass group comprised of some of Hayden’s best friends in Bluegrass. Last March they broke the attendance record for a Wehrly’s Auction House “Pickin’ and Biddin’” show. Hayden pulls from a wide array of influences and music genres to bring a fun and exciting bluegrass show that you won’t want to miss!
