DESCRIPTION:The 36th annual blacksmith days event for the Blacksmith Guild of Central Maryland. The BLACKSMITH GUILD OF CENTRAL MARYLAND Inc. a non-profit\, educational corporation\, founded in 1986 and incorporated in 1995\, is dedicated to preserving and promoting the art and craft of hand forging iron. The Guild is an affiliate of the ARTIST-BLACKSMITH ASSOCIATION OF NORTH AMERICA. \n2026 Forging Contests \n\nAn item that includes a forged\, sharp cornered\, right-angle bend\, a scroll and a drop-the-tongs weld. Orientation of those three details and type of scroll are up to the participants. It can be one piece or multiple\nAn item with a forge weld socket without the handle. (Spear\, wood chisel\, etc.)\n\nScoring will be judges choice based on: \n* Quality of execution \n* Originality \n* Difficulty and complexity \nLink to our BSD 2026 page here: Blacksmith Days \nActivities include contests\, tailgating\, Iron-in-the-hat drawings\, Forging Contests\, Live Auction and more!
