Sykesville Historic Colored Schoolhouse: Back to School Open House

At this open house, learn about the Sykesville Schoolhouse from longtime volunteer, Pat Greenwald. Hear about the site’s restoration and how it has served the community over the years.

This is the third and last open house at the schoolhouse for summer 2025, and will begin with a seated talk lasting approximately 45 min to an hour, followed by questions and free exploration of the space. Doors will be left open with space to explore temporary exhibits at the back of the schoolhouse during the talk.
