2026 Holiday Tour – Hands that Built the Holiday: Celebrating 60 years of the Carroll County Farm Museum

Built in 1852–1853, the Carroll County Almshouse was more than a shelter — it was a community sustained by hard work, care, and craft. Every meal, every stitch, and every tool was made by hand.

This year, as the Carroll County Farm Museum celebrates its 60th anniversary, we honor those who came before us — the residents and caretakers of the almshouse — and the artisans and volunteers who keep their spirit alive today.

Each room of the almshouse reflects a different trade, task, or tradition that shaped life here in the mid-1800s, paired with the crafts that continue within our museum walls today. Visitors will experience a Christmas built by hand — past, present, and future.

Hours: Mon. – Fri. 9AM-4 PM and Sat. & Sun. 12-4 PM
Admission: $10 – Family, $5 – Adults & children 11 yrs and older, $4- Seniors
