Taneytown History Museum – 2026 Opening Day

‘We the People Taneytown 250+ 1754-2026 exhibit will open Sunday, April 12th, 2026 at 1 p.m.

There will be a scavenger hunt for all to participate in and prizes can be won. No admission fee, ADA compliant with handicap ramp on side of building to the front entrance. This is a family friendly event. Parking is available in the back of the museum.

No admission fee. The traveling tavern exhibit from Carroll County Historical Society will also be there in the garage. Taverns were not only an inn and dining place but a public gathering place for meetings and the post office. Taneytown had many taverns.
