Urban Artistry

February 4, 2023 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

$10 – $28

Hip hop troupe Urban Artistry presents “A Real Resilience: Moving with Courage Over Fear in a Transformed World.” This original piece represents our collective and personal perseverance through all of the world’s recent trying times. Created in a climate of much self interest, defamation, economic fragility, and polarizing projections of race relations, this show highlights the importance of courage and love over fear and hate. Urban Artistry believes that through fortitude, community support, self actualization, and movement, people find freedom. This freedom allows communities to move deeper into exploring their truths against the only constant in life: change. They believe and demand that “better“ begins with the individual, and the stronghold for change comes with knowing our power as individuals and as a community. Through original choreography and multimedia projections, these performers paint a picture of the hopeful power of music and dance to help establish the connections and closeness needed in times of loss and disruption. This is a story of healing and redefining a better version of our shared communal identity, one honest and meaningful step at a time.

Urban Artistry, Inc., is an internationally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to the performance and preservation of art forms inspired by the urban experience.
