The Historical Society of Carroll County Maryland

We invite you to join us for the Historical Society of Carroll County’s Legacy Gala on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Antrim 1844, from 6:00-11:00 pm, to celebrate our 85th Anniversary! This exciting milestone Anniversary will be celebrated with dining, dancing, and socializing.

Presented by Deborah Bowers. The Carroll County Agricultural Land Preservation Program administers various programs, with the goal of permanently preserving at least 100,000 acres of agricultural land. Deborah will give an overview of the program and its success. Admission – Please check in when you arrive! The fee is $3.00 for HSCC members, $7.00 for non-members.

Presented by John Laycock. Norman Bruce was an immigrant, prominent landowner, businessman, soldier, politician, husband and father. He founded Bruceville, where the home he built, Myrtle Hill, still stands. John is currently working to place a roadside marker commemorating a Revolutionary War era encampment in Carroll County.
